10 Things To Do With Your Extra Eggs

I don’t know about you, but my kitchen is overflowing with eggs. At one point, we were up to 9 dozen eggs just waiting for a plan. Even my son, who loves eggs for breakfast, is begging for something different. So what’s a mom to do?

Here are 10 ways to keep those extra eggs from going to waste:

  • Hard boil them! Great for fast snacks, homemade egg salad, deviled eggs.
  • Pickle them! Ever had pickled eggs? They’re amazing!
  • Make homemade mayonnaise! I’ll be trying this out this week and I’ll get back to you with a recipe.
  • Get baking! Bake and freeze your family’s favorite muffins, waffles, dessert breads, even individual egg casseroles (great for on the go breakfast)!
  • Dehydrate them! You have never known jealousy until you’re backpack camping and someone busts out with eggs while you have a pack of oatmeal. (This one has taken some beta testing. Make your scrambled eggs first, then dehydrate for the best texture).
  • Wash your hair with them! Eggs will clean up the oils in your hair and leave it squeaky clean! I’m trying out a new recipe, I’ll let you know how it goes!
  • Sell them! Depending on where you live, you can make some quick egg money. Set out a sign in your yard or post on Facebook. Now more than ever people are looking for quality, local food.
  • Feed your other animals! Have a dog that deserves a treat? Or a pig that your getting ready for the freezer? Pass on your extras to your four legged friends.
  • Give them as gifts! I don’t know how many cartons we’ve given to friends and family and they are always a big hit!
  • Donate them to your local church or food pantry. Farm fresh eggs pack a healthy punch of protein.
